Our commitment to the environment goes back to the starting date of our company in 2003. Right from the start we wanted to run a company that is environmentally conscious. Our commitment went far beyond just using recycled paper; we recycled the chemicals, plates, paper, wood from paper skids, packaging cartons, toners, even rags that are used up during the printing and setup process.

In fact we started the company with a waterless press. We took it even further by installing electrically more efficient equipment. Our enviro-friendly practice was implemented company-wide long before FSC became popular in the print industry. Our approach goes far beyond the paper or the print process and is based on the principle of Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle.

At Print 44, our FSC certification is NOT a marketing gimmick. It is a component of our overall enviro-friendly way of life and company practice.

Can Any Printer Use the FSC Logo?
No, since this practice is prohibited by the organization and it’s copyright protected usage.

Does FSC printing mean using recycled paper?
Not necessarily. Although some FSC certified paper may have recycled content, not all FSC certified paper types have recycled content.

If a customer asks for FSC certified printing, is it good enough to buy FSC certified paper and have a non-FSC-certified printing company print it?
Absolutely not. FSC certified printer uses FSC certified paper but also follows the required process for the chain of custody that is expected of any certified printer throughout their plant.

FSC certification for a printing company means that there is a responsible way to manage and handle paper products by implementing key steps as part of the chain of custody.
